'Mediterranean Meets Cuba' sees Internationally renowned Cuban violinist Omar Puente and Italian pianist and composer Ilario Ferrari bridge their respective musical heritages.

Having maintained close ties with traditional Cuban music, Puente’s playing blends this personal influence with his extensive training in the classical and jazz idioms, resulting in a musical voice that is rich with virtuosity, energy and colour, matching his charismatic, larger-than-life personality.

Ferrari’s style integrates classical-oriented compositions, contemporary Jazz and sounds and rhythms of Indian and Mediterranean culture.

With their duo show, these musicians and longtime friends transport you on a musical journey from the rhythms of Cuba to the shores of Southern Italy and back again, exploring common ground as well as new possibilities which spring from the meeting of Afro-Cuban Jazz music and Mediterranean Culture.
